Maintenance & Warranties

Kingswood joinery UK LTD offer a 5-year warranty with all windows and doors that you purchase.

In order for your warranties to stand your windows and/or doors purchased from Kingswood joinery UK LTD must undergo a regular maintenance check every 6 months.

This maintenance and warranties will need to be read in conjunction with the terms and conditions.

This will need to be done by a certified professional painter and decorator and all receipts will need to be kept and provided upon request.

A check list below will need to be followed for your warranties to remain active.

Check pulley wheels and oil them to allow them to run smoothly. All warranties will become void if negligence were to be the case of any breakdown of a pulley wheel and you may incur charges for replacement pulley wheels. Any site surveys will be chargeable if the fault was to be of your own and the wasted day rate will incur. This decision will be ours to make.

Check draught strip is ok and free from any breaks and paint. If you have painted over any drought strip whilst maintaining your windows and/or doors Kingswood joinery UK LTD are not liable for any moisture or damp penetrating through your windows and any rotting of the timber caused by this will be your responsibility. Any worn drought strip will not be covered by our warranties due to wear and tear and it will be your responsibility to replace this where required at your own cost. Kingswood joinery UK LTD can supply you with more drought strip but this will be chargeable along with postage costings and payment must be made upfront.

Check sash cord is not breaking down and replace if damaged, please note we do not cover sash cord in any warranties or guarantees if this is on a supply only basis, any install done by Kingswood joinery UK LTD will be replaced but will only be limited to if the sash cord completely snaps, any stretching or fraying will be liable to yourselves due to wear and tear of the window. A site survey will need to be arranged to inspect this issue to determine the fault and you may incur a charge for our wasted days if the fault to be found was due to your own negligence and no fault of Kingswood joinery UK LTD and this will be our decision to make.

Check that all ironmongery is fully functional and oiled to allow them to operate correctly, any ironmongery will be replaced only if it becomes a manufacturer fault if supplied by us from our list of ironmongery, any ironmongery sourced and installed by yourselves will be your responsibly to replace at your own cost and any wear and tear on your ironmongery will be your responsibility to replace at your own cost. Kingswood joinery UK LTD can supply you with new ironmongery if this were to be the case but will be chargeable and full payment must be made prior to any new order.

Paint must be thoroughly checked over and repainted by a professional every 6 months, this includes cills sashes and the box the sashes rest in if the criteria is not met then your warranties and guarantees will become void and Kingswood joinery UK LTD will not be liable for any repairs or replacements on your windows and/or doors and will advise you on the next steps. Any replacements or repairs will be chargeable, and payment must be made in full prior to any future works carried out and any dates set will be at our convenience. Kingswood joinery UK LTD reserve the right to decline any future repair or replacement due to the negligence by yourselves

Any misting of glass units will be replaced but a site survey will be needed for inspection and any incurring fees will be discretionary to Kingswood joinery UK LTD. please note that if this is a supply only purchase order then any sashes will need to be bought back to our factory for repair, if you require this to be done on site then additional fees will apply and will need to be arranged at our convenience. Additional fees will be per man per day plus any congestion fees and any other fees we may incur in order to carry out this process. If a site survey proves that this is no fault of ours then you will be required to pay in full upfront the total costings for a replacement unit and Kingswood joinery UK LTD reserves the right to decline any repair or replacement due to negligence by yourselves.

Any storage of your purchased items will need to be stacked correctly to avoid any warping and twisting of your timber windows and/or doors. You will need to make sure that they are stored in a dry room free from any outside weather conditions before they are installed to avoid any moisture penetrating the timber. Any damages caused to your items due to negligence will be your responsibility and all warranties and guarantees will become void.

Please note any windows installed into a room where plastering is required afterwards, we will not take responsibility for any swelling of the windows due to the amount of moisture that will be in the air internally. As you can appreciate this moisture will need to escape from somewhere and it will aim directly for the window so it will be your responsibility to take all precautions when undergoing additional work to your property to avoid damages to your newly installed windows and/or doors. Kingswood joinery UK LTD will not take any responsibility if this were to be the case and a full site survey will need to be undertaken where it will be our decision only to determine the fault of a faulty window. Additional charges will apply for wasted days if any faults were made by yourselves.

Any modifications made to your windows and/or doors purchased from Kingswood joinery UK LTD will cause your warranties and guarantees to become void, this includes any blinds/curtains installed on top of our products.
